More than just a dressing
The combination of home-made mayonnaise, fresh herbs and sweet garlic is a taste sensation that really excites me!
This easy dressing is creamy and tangy and the fresh herbs can really elevate the taste of any dish that you serve it with.
I love the versatility of this sauce. I use it to dress salads, as a dip for finger snacks like mini chicken kebabs, as an accompaniment for fish and even to liven up vegetables.
What herbs to use?
The beauty of this dressing is its flexibility. You can adjust the taste by experimenting with different herbs.
My advice – use a combination your favorite herbs! Or even just one herb if you prefer.
I love to add either fresh parsley, coriander, dill or chives or a combination of these herbs in this recipe.
I do not recommend the substitution of fresh herbs with dried herbs in this dressing, as the taste and mouthfeel is not the same.
The mayonnaise
Although store bought mayonnaise is convenient to use as the base for this dressing, I definitely recommend making your own. The taste is just far more superior!
Also, some store bought mayonnaise may contain ingredients like sugar and starch that I try to avoid.
